Article: Troubleshooting StudyPlace Login Problems
Login Trouble

Best Practice Tips:
Login problems can be caused by bad credentials or bad bookmarks.
  • Be sure you are aware of what kind of StudyPlace account(s) you have and what the usernames are for each one. If you are a parent, you have a Family Account. If you are a teacher, you have a Teacher account. If you are an Admin, you have an Admin Account. Some people may have more than one account. For example a school administrator may also be a teacher and a parent. If you are trying to login as an Admin you must use your Admin username.
  • If teachers are also parents of students enrolled in your organization, be sure that the email addresses used for their teacher accounts are not the same ones that will be used for their family accounts. We recommend that teachers use an email address supplied by the organization for their teacher accounts.
  • When resetting your password, make sure the Account Type noted in the email you receive matches the account type for which you are resetting the password. If it doesn't match, it is an indication that the username you are entering is not for the correct Account Type.
  • Be sure to only bookmark a webpage after you have successfully logged in.

What To Do If You Can't Login
  1. Exit your browser and then reopen it or try using a different browser
  2. Delete all your StudyPlace bookmarks from your browser
  3. Then look for your user Account Type below:

    Admin: Admin Account Login
    Teacher: Teacher Account Login
    Family: Family Account Login
    Student: Student Account Login

  4. Click the appropriate link above for your account type to open the page in another browser tab
  5. Use your account type username to login
  6. Once you have successfully logged into your account, bookmark the URL for future use.
Note: If you have multiple accounts and you are redirected to a different location than what you were expecting (described by some as a loop), it is an indication that you are using the wrong username.

Reset Your Password
  1. Click the appropriate link above for your account type to open the page in another browser tab
  2. Click the Forgot Password link on the login screen
  3. Enter your username and then the "Email Reset Link" button
  4. Then go to your email account and look for a message to Reset Your Password
  5. Before doing anything else, check the Account Type in the email message you received. Does the account type (Family, Teacher, Admin) match the account type that you are attempting to login as?

If the account type in the email message you received does not match the account type that you are trying to log in as, then you used the wrong username when you clicked the password reset link. Instead of proceeding with the Reset Password process, contact your school Administrator and ask for your username for the account type. (For example, if you are trying to login as a Teacher ask for your teacher username.) Once you obtain the correct username, restart the Password Reset process again this time using the correct username.

  6. After resetting your password, the system will return a message saying that it has been successfully reset and provide your a Login link. Click the link and use the username and the new password to login.
  7. Once you have successfully logged into your account, bookmark the URL for future use.

Note: The Reset Password link will expire after 3 days and can only be used once.
