What is an enrollment?
An enrollment is a registered seat in a course for which your organization is charging the family using the StudyPlace system.

Can StudyPlace be used for enrollments in organizations other than homeschool support groups?
Yes, StudyPlace can be applied to different business platforms. However, most of the features built into the system were specifically designed to accommodate the unique needs of the homeschool space and therefore the system may not translate well for other applications. Please contact us to discuss your specific needs and to explore whether StudyPlace is the right fit for you.

Do I need to install software?
No. You do not need to download software or install it on your computer. Rather, StudyPlace is a web service accessible via a web browser. Your customers access it using a link on your website and you are given administrative rights using login credentials to enter and modify your organizational information into the backend.

Is my organization's information secure?
Yes. We provide top line systems to maintain application, data, and network security. We own multiple servers located at various sites around the U.S. so we can ensure that your system will always stay up and running even if one of our sites is experiencing problems. Our system data is backed up daily and stored in a secure location. We control access to your information with military-grade encryption and require proper authentication. The network is climate controlled with back up power and high speed redundant Ethernet.

Is StudyPlace Mac friendly?
Yes. StudyPlace is compatible with all modern operating systems.

How is StudyPlace different than my existing in-house enrollment?
StudyPlace is a collaborative effort between experts in the fields of homeschool co-op administration and software development designed to meet the unique needs of homeschool teaching organizations. It offers a sophisticated architecture to calculate complicated financial structures which gives administrators information on demand.

Can StudyPlace be customized to my specific needs?
Each StudyPlace customer will use a database that is specific to their organization. Customers will be able to set up terms, courses, holidays, fees, invoices, etc as suits their needs. We are customer driven and value your input to help drive future development of StudyPlace.

How much does it cost?
Our standard price is $10 per enrollment not to exceed 5% of the seat price. Seats that your organizations provide to students for free are not subject to StudyPlace fees. However, we do have a $2,000 per year minimum charge. Click here for more information.

What are your payment terms?
We invoice our StudyPlace customers quarterly and payment is due net 30 days.

How can I make StudyPlace pay for itself?
If your organization charges a course fee, our per enrollment pricing structure can be easily incorporated into the fee to pass on the cost.

I run a co-op and our courses are provided for free. How can you make this system affordable for me?
We never charge more than 5% of the price you charge families per seat. Additionally, seats that you provide to students for free are not subject to StudyPlace fees. However, we do have a minimum charge of $2,000 per year. Click here for more information.

No, StudyPlace is not available on a component basis. Our $10 per enrollment price is all inclusive (even new features made available after you sign on are free of charge). However, you are not obligated to use all the features of the system. Simply use what you need now and as your needs grow the system will be able to accommodate you.

I need an online registration system, but don't currently have a website. Can you help with that too?
Yes, for an additional fee we can help you with hosting and building a website.

Can I add StudyPlace to my existing website?
Yes, if you have your own website that you are happy with just link the enrollment system from your site.

Yes, reports can be downloaded in Excel or PDF format. If our system is missing a report you need, just let us know and we can add it.

Can StudyPlace replace my accounting system?
No. StudyPlace does not integrate with QuickBooks or any other financial package and is not intended to replace your financial system. However, we do make some of the data available for CSV download which can be exported to Excel or other such spreadsheets. We also offer some HTML printable reports. The system does provide enough information to manage and track your tuition and teacher payments and assist with budgeting.

I don't know anything about software systems and am afraid that I won’t be able to learn how to make it work for me.

What is a Learning Management System?
A Learning Management System (or LMS for short) is a software system that supports teachers and administrators in providing online course resources to students and families. StudyPlace has integrated LMS features into our service which provides teachers options to upload course materials from their computer, sync their materials from Moodle*, or create new materials in StudyPlace. Click here to learn more.

How does StudyPlace compare with other LMS systems such as Moodle* or Blackboard?
StudyPlace is a powerful alternative to other LMS services such as Moodle and Blackboard. Please refer to this comparison chart between the 3 services.

How long does it take to set up and launch StudyPlace?
StudyPlace is a very sophisticated system with multiple layers of complexity that will require several months lead time to set up properly, test, and train your constituents to use. We encourage new organizations to build in time to give careful consideration to how the system works and how it might affect the way you do business. Training your teaching staff and families on how to use the system is an equally important aspect of the transition that should not be rushed. Generally, we advise a 3-4 months.
